Montreal, February 26, 2025 – Copibec is proud to unveil three new episodes that continue the reflection initiated in its podcast series Copyright Law: A Century of Stories. Hosted by Farnell Morisset, these episodes explore current and crucial copyright issues in Canada.
The series, which to date has garnered over 35,000 listens, plunges listeners into the heart of the most significant moments in the history of copyright through captivating interviews with creators, specialists and jurists.
These episodes cover:

The Resale Right: Towards Fairer Compensation for Canadian Visual Artists – An in-depth look at the need for a droit de suite in Canada, which would allow visual artists to receive a share of the revenues generated by the resale of their works.

Amending the Copyright Act: An Unattainable Goal? – A retrospective of reform attempts since the York decision of 2021.

User Rights: A Controversial Evolutione – An analysis of the courts’ interpretation of copyright through the concept of “users’ rights” and its impact on creators and the book industry.
The three episodes in French and English are available on the Copibec website and on most podcasting platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
